# July Ribbon Contest

My neice Joanne was only 13 years old when she died from Lupus, I remember going to the chapel of rest to see her two days before her funeral and I looked at her laid in a coffin and I was completely heart broken. she was so beautiful, so young.

I couldnt believe at first that she had died.because One moment she had been doing gymnastics and enjoying school,such a happy girl, always smileing. a year later she was sat subdued and attending hospital.and on a kidney dialysis machine. After her funeral I went back to Joannes parents home, my sister inlaw sat and drank a whole bottle of vodka. all I could do was be there and watch her grieve for her little girl..

I often think of Joanne as another flower in Gods Garden.And to me she is a beautiful rose, because she brought love to everyone.

A lot of the ribbons have strong meaning to me.

But the one I would choose would be

Orange

Because out of all the things that have happened to me in my life losing Joanne really hurt.

I will always love and miss her.And one day I truly hope they will find a cure for lupus.
